Also known as dioxazine violet, and is probably the strongest color I make. Cleaning up after this one is simply dreadful, but is well worth it in the end. This violet can give some very nice mixes, but due to it's strength, a little goes a long way. Carbazole violet can be especially useful in getting the luminescence of a shadow, which can be tricky without an organic pigment in the mix. It's lightfastness has been questioned in tints with white, so we are currently running our own tests to find out. More on that in the future.... |
